Terms of service
Last updated: June 2026
These terms cover your purchase and use of Recoly, a macOS screen recorder and editor sold outside the App Store. By installing or using Recoly, you agree to them.
Your license
A Recoly Pro license unlocks the Pro features. Lifetime is a one-time purchase with lifetime updates; monthly and yearly are subscriptions. You may activate Pro on up to 3 Macs.
Plans
Every Pro plan unlocks the same features. Plans differ only by billing — monthly, yearly, or a one-time Lifetime purchase. The free plan is always available.
Account and license activation
Activating Recoly links your license to a Mac and counts against your plan limit. You can sign in to the account portal to view and deactivate machines so you can move your license to a new Mac yourself.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you record and share, including obtaining any consent required to record other people, screens or content, and following any policy that applies to you.
Content disclaimer
Recoly is a recording and editing tool. You are responsible for the legality and appropriateness of what you capture, edit and publish with it.
No guarantee
Recoly is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for hardware damage, data loss, lost work, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from using Recoly. Your remedy is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
Related policies
Your purchase is also covered by our refund policy and our acceptable use policy. Please read both; they form part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Recoly evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
